A London High Court judge dismissed two lawsuits against Uber Technologies Inc. on October 19, 2026. The claims were valued at approximately £340 million ($453 million).
Thousands of London's black cab drivers and two private hire companies brought the lawsuits. They alleged Uber obtained its operating licence through misleading information provided to Transport for London.
The judge accepted Uber's argument that the claimants filed their cases after the six-year limitation period had expired. The ruling effectively ends the long-running legal challenge.
An Uber spokesperson welcomed the decision, saying it puts these “legacy matters firmly in the past.”
