South Korea’s Fair Trade Commission launched a preliminary antitrust review of Uber’s $14.8 billion acquisition of Delivery Hero.

The regulator is investigating the deal’s potential impact on competition within the ride-hailing and food-delivery sectors.

Delivery Hero owns Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baemin, which currently stands as South Korea’s largest food-delivery platform.

The acquisition would significantly expand Uber's global presence in the delivery sector.

Uber expects the transaction to close in the second half of 2027, pending all regulatory approvals.

Separately, Uber announced new investments and leadership changes to expand its European Fourth-Party Logistics (4PL) business.
