Delivery Hero co-founder Niklas Östberg will remain CEO following Uber’s planned acquisition of the company. The board extended Östberg’s contract through April 30, 2029. This decision reverses a previous leadership transition plan to ensure stability during the corporate integration.
Uber’s acquisition of Delivery Hero is valued at $14.8 billion. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2027 pending regulatory approvals.
The combined entity projects pro-forma gross bookings of $236 billion for 2025.
