Taylor Wimpey and several major UK housebuilders face a multi-billion-pound class-action lawsuit filed Tuesday.

The claim filed at the Competition Appeal Tribunal alleges firms shared sensitive commercial information to inflate new-build home prices.

The lawsuit represents over 700,000 people who purchased new-build homes between October 2015 and June 2026.

Claimants seek total compensation estimated between £2.2 billion and £4.5 billion.

Affected homeowners could receive thousands of pounds each if the legal action succeeds.

Taylor Wimpey and other named firms declined to comment on the proceedings.

The claim requires formal approval from the tribunal before it can proceed.
