Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) is reportedly considering Dallas, Texas, for a second major U.S. production base, following its investment in Arizona. Sources say the plan calls for six advanced wafer fabs. The potential investment could exceed the $265 billion allocated for the Arizona site.
The reported plans come amid strong demand from major U.S. clients, including Apple and Nvidia. TSMC is also said to be pursuing a Southern Semiconductor Dual-Core Corridor to diversify its manufacturing and supply chain.
TSMC has not officially confirmed the plans. Wells Fargo has highlighted potential benefits for semiconductor equipment firms from the company’s broader U.S. expansion.
