Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) announced a major expansion in Longtan with an investment exceeding NT$1 trillion ($31.4 billion). The project focuses on developing and producing advanced 1.4-nanometer semiconductor processes.
The expansion includes the construction of three new wafer fabrication plants. TSMC expects the first facility to begin mass production around 2030.
This strategic move aims to meet rising demand for cutting-edge chips in artificial intelligence and high-performance computing. The investment secures TSMC's leadership in the global semiconductor market.
