TSMC is accelerating development of its A14 process technology ahead of schedule. The company reports early tape-outs for smartphone, high-performance computing, and AI applications. Pre-production for the A14 process will begin in 2027, with full-scale volume production scheduled for 2028.
The A14 nanosheet technology increases chip density by nearly 20%. It offers a 10-15% performance boost over the 2-nanometer process. The technology can also reduce power consumption by 25-30%. Internal test vehicles have already achieved device performance yields of nearly 90%.
