Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs has approved a cumulative US$44 billion in investments for TSMC's U.S. operations. The approvals have been granted by the ministry's Department of Investment Review since December 2020, formalizing the chipmaker's capital deployment for advanced semiconductor fabrication plants in Arizona. In July, the department cleared a US$20 billion capital injection for TSMC's Arizona subsidiary. The funding will support ongoing construction and future expansion of its U.S. manufacturing footprint.
