Tesla will livestream its next-generation Roadster unveiling on October 15, 2026, from Waco, Texas. The event was moved from October 1 because of severe weather concerns for the outdoor demonstration.
First announced in 2017, the Roadster has faced multiple production delays since its initial 2020 start date. Tesla is expected to share final production specifications, pricing and mass-production timelines at the event.
The Roadster is expected to contribute little to Tesla’s revenue compared with high-volume models such as the Model 3 and Model Y. It also serves as a showcase for the company’s engineering and brand image.
Market reaction will likely depend on the details Tesla reveals and whether the final car meets the ambitious performance targets previously discussed by CEO Elon Musk. Those targets include the potential integration of SpaceX technology.
