Tesla Head of AI Ashok Elluswamy announced a transition to 24/7 Robotaxi operations on September 6, 2026. The expansion aims to improve service accessibility by adding nighttime hours.
A technical update known as v15 will launch next month to facilitate the 24/7 rollout. Tesla has not specified if the update targets the new Cybercab or the existing fleet.
The service currently utilizes Cybercabs and Model Ys in Austin, Dallas, and Miami. Existing operations remain limited to a window between 6 AM and 10 PM.
