Elon Musk said Tesla will wind down Cybertruck production at its Texas gigafactory around mid-2027. The move is intended to free manufacturing capacity for increased production of the Cybercab, Tesla’s purpose-built autonomous robotaxi.

Launched in late 2023, the Cybertruck has faced production delays, recalls and difficulty sustaining the high demand Musk initially predicted. The shift signals Tesla’s growing focus on autonomous driving and robotaxis over its niche electric pickup truck.

It remains unclear whether Cybertruck production will move to another facility or be discontinued entirely.
