Tesla Inc. captured 52% of the U.S. electric vehicle market during the first eight months of 2026. This figure represents an increase from the 43% share recorded during the same period in 2025. Tesla sold 325,351 vehicles in the U.S. market.
The company’s growth occurred despite a general decline in overall U.S. electric vehicle sales. Competitors reported sales decreases of up to 30% as traditional automakers scaled back production plans. This performance follows the strategic direction of CEO Elon Musk.
Tesla formally registered a new subsidiary in Vietnam to facilitate its entry into that market. The company also scheduled an event for October 1st to showcase the next-generation Roadster.
