Tesla launched high-volume production and began deliveries of its all-electric Semi trucks at its Sparks, Nevada factory. This milestone occurs nearly nine years after the vehicle's initial unveiling. Initial customers receiving vehicles include PepsiCo, DHL, and US Foods.
The company targets an eventual production capacity of 50,000 Semi trucks annually at the Nevada facility. Tesla did not disclose specific pricing or current production volumes during the event.
The Semi serves the long-haul freight market in two distinct configurations. The standard range model covers 325 miles on a single charge. The long-range version achieves 500 miles while fully loaded.
