Talen Names Terry Nutt CEO, Expands Buyback Authorization to $3 Billion

Talen Energy named President Terry Nutt its next chief executive officer. Nutt will take over on January 1, 2027.

Current CEO Mac McFarland will retire at the end of 2026. He will remain as a senior advisor until March 2027 to support a smooth transition.

The board expanded the company’s share repurchase authorization to $3.0 billion through 2028. Talen also initiated $1.5 billion in accelerated share repurchase transactions.
