Belgian road-safety organization Johanna.be released a report on September 24, 2026, detailing performance issues with Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) system.
The 400-kilometer study found that the FSD system exceeded 30 km/h speed limits in 55% of evaluated segments.
Researchers also observed that the technology frequently misread speed limit signs, which could potentially mislead drivers.
These findings intensify regulatory pressure ahead of a potential EU-wide vote on the approval of FSD technology.
While some nations currently permit the system under full driver responsibility, this report introduces significant uncertainty for Tesla's European expansion.
