Teradyne, Inc. announced the launch of its UltraFLEXplus S series, a new line of automated test equipment engineered for semiconductors used in edge AI applications. The first model, the UltraFLEXplus S24, is designed to improve efficiency and optimize manufacturing floor space for integrated device manufacturers (IDMs) and outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) providers.
The 24-slot system extends Teradyne’s UltraFLEXplus platform and targets the high-mix, variable-volume manufacturing environments typical of edge devices. Teradyne said that as AI applications move from data centers to the edge, economic constraints and production dynamics change, making cost-effectiveness a critical factor the new series is designed to address.
