Atlassian (NASDAQ: TEAM) unveiled the Agentic Multiplayer Protocol (AMP) at its Team '26 Europe conference in Amsterdam. The framework is designed to make AI a collaborative participant in team workflows rather than a siloed tool.
AMP sets rules for AI agents to work alongside people across Atlassian products, including Jira and Confluence. It gives agents the context, identity and governance needed to participate in those workflows.
AI agents will have distinct profiles and real-time presence indicators alongside human team members. The approach is intended to make AI contributions visible to the whole team and preserve context.
AMP is part of Atlassian's strategy to deepen human-AI collaboration. The company is also enhancing its Teamwork Graph, which maps relationships across projects, teams and data to give AI agents organizational context.
