T1 Energy faces a $30 million payment due today, October 15, to Evervolt Green Energy. This payment is an installment of a $135 million deal T1 Energy announced in July 2026. The deal acquires key patents for TOPCon solar cell technology. T1 will use this technology in its new Austin-area factory.
T1 continues construction on its G2_Austin solar cell fabrication plant. Recently issued convertible notes partly finance this project. The Evervolt intellectual property acquisition supports T1's strategy to create a vertically integrated U.S. solar supply chain. It also eliminates future royalty payments.
