Tata Elxsi signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Bengaluru-based Sarla Aviation to develop the Shunya aircraft. The Shunya is a six-seater electric vertical take-off and landing vehicle.
Tata Elxsi will provide engineering support for flight-critical systems, including avionics and software integration. Sarla Aviation leads the design and certification for the aircraft.
The aircraft is designed for a range of over 300 km. The startup targets the first flight within the next 18 to 24 months.
