Sempra Infrastructure shipped the first liquefied natural gas cargo from its ECA LNG Phase 1 project in Ensenada, Mexico. This joint venture with TotalEnergies represents the first LNG liquefaction facility on Mexico's Pacific Coast.

The facility provides a shorter shipping route for U.S. natural gas to reach markets in Asia and the Pacific Basin. This strategic location reduces both transportation time and costs compared to traditional routes.

The project has a nameplate capacity of 3.25 million tonnes per annum. Long-term agreements with TotalEnergies and Mitsui & Co. support the facility's output. Full commercial operations are expected to commence in the summer of 2026.
