International market participants now control a record $39 trillion in United States financial assets, spanning a diverse portfolio of equities, Treasuries, corporate debt, and agency bonds.
Since the bottom of the 2022 bear market, these foreign-owned positions have surged by $16 trillion in total value. This rapid accumulation represents a 70% growth in international holdings over the current market cycle.
