Spire Global announced the successful launch of the first three satellites built at its manufacturing facility in Boulder, Colorado. The satellites flew aboard SpaceX’s Transporter-18 rideshare mission and were produced for undisclosed national security and defense customers.

The launch marks a milestone in Spire’s expansion of its U.S. manufacturing footprint to meet growing demand from the sector. The new facility provides end-to-end satellite development, manufacturing and testing on U.S. soil.

CEO Theresa Condor said the launch supports U.S. national security missions by providing domestic infrastructure to rapidly deploy capabilities. One report said Spire Global shares rose 4% in early trading following the announcement.
