Venezuela’s telecommunications regulator, Conatel, has authorized SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet service to operate nationwide. It granted a general operating license and seven concessions for Ku-band frequencies to locally registered SpaceX VZ, S.C.A., formalizing the company’s operations.

The approval moves Starlink from gray-market availability through local distributors to a fully regulated service. It follows a period of cooperation, including Starlink’s provision of emergency connectivity after earthquakes damaged telecommunications infrastructure in June 2026.
