SpaceX is in discussions with EchoStar about potentially acquiring its Boost Mobile wireless service or gaining access to its network, according to reports from The Washington Post and Reuters on November 2, 2026.
The talks are reportedly at a high level. Elon Musk has personally met with EchoStar chairman Charlie Ergen. The discussions mark a potential step in Musk’s plan to build a hybrid satellite-terrestrial mobile network and compete with AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile.
The news sent SpaceX stock up more than 2% in premarket trading. A deal could give SpaceX an established subscriber base and ground infrastructure to advance its telecommunications ambitions.
