SpaceX has asked the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to expand operations at its South Texas launch site. The site is currently authorized for 25 Starship flights annually.

The proposal would allow as many as 456 launches each year. It would also permit up to 912 landings. The FAA will prepare an environmental impact statement to assess the plan.

The expansion reflects SpaceX’s ambition to make Starship a high-frequency, fully reusable launch system for its Starlink constellation and future missions.

On October 13, SpaceX launched its 35th commercial resupply mission (CRS-35) to the International Space Station aboard a Falcon 9 rocket.
