Australian regulators review TCL Electronics' proposed acquisition of Sony's home entertainment business. The review follows a definitive agreement signed in April 2026. Under the agreement, TCL will acquire a 51% majority stake in the division. The new joint venture will be named Bravia, Inc.

The deal includes Sony's consumer televisions, projectors, soundbars, and commercial display products. TCL will hold a controlling stake. Products will continue to carry the Sony and BRAVIA brand names. Operations are slated to begin in April 2027, pending regulatory approvals in jurisdictions including Australia.
