Sony-owned Sucker Punch Productions, developer of the "Ghost of Tsushima" series, laid off 26 employees. The layoffs follow the commercial success of its latest title, "Ghost of Yotei." "Ghost of Yotei" was reportedly Sony's best-selling game last year.
In an internal email, studio leadership attributed the cuts to "challenges in the market" and a reassessment of staffing needs for its next project. The layoffs represent roughly 11-13% of the studio's workforce. This move occurs amid a broader restructuring trend within Sony's gaming studios. This includes recent layoffs at Bungie and the closure of Bluepoint Games.
