Sony Group raised its net profit forecast for the fiscal year ending in March 2027 to 1.33 trillion yen. Its previous projection was 1.21 trillion yen.
The company reported second-quarter net profit of 449.6 billion yen, up 44% year over year. The result beat analyst expectations.
The gaming and film divisions drove the strong performance. Operating profit at Game & Network Services rose 83%, supported by software sales and network services revenue.
The Pictures segment benefited from higher theatrical revenue, led by the blockbuster success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Sony also raised its full-year sales and operating profit forecasts.
