Sony's PlayStation 5 console sales increased year-over-year in the U.S. during September 2026. PS5 hardware unit sales jumped 22%. Dollar sales surged 43% compared to the same period last year. Market research firm Circana provided this data.
A strong software release slate drove sales growth. This slate included the debut of the PlayStation exclusive "Marvel's Wolverine." The title was the best-selling game of September in the U.S. It marked the most successful launch for a Sony-published game since February 2024's "Helldivers II." This performance helped Sony achieve its highest monthly hardware dollar share since May 2025.
