Western Digital (WDC), the parent company of SanDisk, reported first-quarter fiscal 2027 results after the market closed on October 22, 2026. Revenue rose 55.5% year over year to $4.38 billion. Adjusted earnings per share were $4.64, above analyst expectations. The company’s guidance for the next quarter also surpassed estimates.
Western Digital cited strong storage demand from cloud and AI customers. Its blended average selling price per terabyte increased 28%. Despite the results and outlook, WDC shares fell more than 6% in after-hours and Friday trading as AI-related stocks broadly sold off amid concerns about high valuations and future sector spending.
Ahead of its earnings report on October 29, SanDisk shares recovered modestly in pre-market trading on October 23, rising about 2% after a sharp decline in the previous session. Analysts remain largely bullish on NAND memory’s long-term prospects, citing demand from AI infrastructure.
