Summit Therapeutics announced positive overall survival results from the Phase III HARMONi-GI1 trial of investigational cancer drug ivonescimab. The findings were presented at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2026 Congress.
The trial met its primary endpoint. Median overall survival was 14.9 months for patients receiving ivonescimab plus chemotherapy. It was 12.1 months for patients receiving durvalumab plus chemotherapy, the current standard of care.
Ivonescimab also showed a higher objective response rate and longer progression-free survival. Its safety profile was manageable and consistent with previous studies.
The results could support a future regulatory submission for ivonescimab.
