Summit Therapeutics has signed a clinical trial collaboration agreement with AstraZeneca and Daiichi Sankyo to evaluate its investigational drug ivonescimab with Datroway (datopotamab deruxtecan) in multiple solid tumors. The collaboration will begin with a Phase III trial in first-line triple-negative breast cancer.

All three companies will contribute to trial costs and retain commercial rights to their respective medicines. The announcement follows AstraZeneca’s recent $2 billion strategic equity investment in Summit.

One source noted that Summit shares rose 1.5% in pre-market trading following the news.
