Supermicro announced a collaboration with Nokia and NVIDIA to deploy Artificial Intelligence-Radio Access Networks (AI-RAN) for 5G. The solution combines Supermicro’s AI-optimized server infrastructure, Nokia’s RAN technology and NVIDIA’s Aerial RAN Computer platform. It aims to bring accelerated computing closer to the network edge, from distributed cell sites to centralized hubs.

The integrated solution will allow telecom operators to run radio and AI workloads on shared infrastructure. It is designed to support low-latency services such as voice and vision AI, enable autonomous network operations and lay the groundwork for future AI-native 6G networks. Supermicro will provide servers optimized for different network tiers, with the goal of improving efficiency and helping operators monetize new AI-driven applications.
