Shares of Brera Holdings (SLMT) surged 13.7% to $4.28 on September 25, after the multi-club sports holding company announced it had appointed Yaffa Cohen-Ifrah as chief marketing officer and head of investor relations — a dual role that signals the company believes its biggest gap isn't on the field, but in how it tells its story to Wall Street. Solmate Hires a Storyteller for Wall Street — But With $147 Million in Crypto and a $54 Million Market Cap, Is This Company's Real Problem Visibility or Valuation?

Shares jumped 13.7% to $4.28 after Solmate Infrastructure — the crypto-focused company still listed under its old name, Brera Holdings (SLMT) — announced Yaffa Cohen-Ifrah as its new chief marketing officer and head of investor relations. The broader market barely moved, making company-specific news the clear driver. But a single marketing hire doesn't normally produce a double-digit pop, which raises a question: is this stock repricing on substance, or on the hope that someone can finally get investors to notice a glaring math problem?

A Crypto Treasury Worth Roughly Three Times the Stock's Value

The estimated market value of Solmate's SOL holdings was approximately $146.7 million as of September 21, 2026, up from roughly $88 million in July — an increase of about 67%. Yet Brera Holdings' market cap sits around $54 million. That means the stock is trading at a steep discount to the cryptocurrency sitting in its own treasury. These amounts are unrealized and reflect movements in the market price of SOL; the company has not sold any tokens, and the value may decline substantially. Still, the gap is jarring, and it explains why management wants a dedicated spokesperson for investors.

The New Hire Has Done This Job Before — at a Bigger Company

Cohen-Ifrah previously served as CMO and head of corporate communications at Sapiens, a Nasdaq-listed insurer-tech firm, and has held senior roles at Strauss Group, ADAMA, Victoria's Secret, and Saks Fifth Avenue. CEO Ron Sade framed the hire bluntly: "The value of our SOL treasury has grown, and the market is starting to take notice. Now we need to tell our story to investors with the same discipline we apply to building the treasury."

Governance Baggage Could Limit the Uplift Solmate has been fighting a messy proxy battle. RBCH Ltd., an affiliate of RockawayX, campaigned for shareholders to withhold support from the current board.

RBCH also filed a derivative lawsuit alleging breach of fiduciary duty, shareholder oppression, and self-dealing. A polished investor-relations operation may help attract new buyers, but institutional capital tends to shy away from companies mired in litigation with their own large shareholders.

Tiny Revenue, Massive Crypto Bet

Trailing twelve-month revenue is just $972,000, while 2025 losses totaled $376 million.

The company carries no long-term debt, but its entire value story rests on the price of SOL — a single cryptocurrency. Cohen-Ifrah's job is to convince Wall Street that discount is an opportunity, not a warning sign.
