ASML has informed SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics that it will raise prices for EUV and DUV lithography machine components by 10%, effective January 2027. The increase covers regularly replaced consumable parts and repair components, including optical systems and light sources. Both companies reportedly accepted the increase after negotiations.
ASML attributed the increase to surging memory-chip demand fueled by the expansion of AI data centers. Other equipment makers, including Applied Materials and Tokyo Electron, are also raising prices, shifting bargaining power toward suppliers in the semiconductor equipment supply chain.
