The core Tailwind CSS framework remains an open-source, MIT-licensed project. The original development team will continue to lead the project from within Shopify.
Tailwind Labs will close new sign-ups for commercial products like Tailwind UI. This shift allows the team to focus exclusively on the open-source framework. The deal resolves significant financial pressure Tailwind Labs experienced earlier this year.
