Shopify has acquired the SHOP.COM domain name from Market America Worldwide. The deal deepens the companies’ collaboration.
Market America will consolidate its brands, products and UnFranchise Business on a reimagined MarketAmerica.com website built on Shopify’s platform. The company says the sale will let it focus on its core brand while using Shopify’s e-commerce infrastructure.
The acquisition advances Shopify’s strategy to strengthen its brand identity with a highly desirable domain. Financial terms were not disclosed.
