SoftBank Group is reportedly considering acquiring Allied Universal, the largest security services company in the U.S.

The deal could value Allied Universal’s equity at up to $18 billion. The company has approximately $12 billion in debt. Including that debt, the total transaction could be valued near $30 billion.

The potential acquisition fits founder Masayoshi Son’s strategy to deploy AI-powered robots across industries, with security a key target. Allied Universal would provide a large customer base and workforce for testing and implementing robotics technology.

Discussions remain preliminary, and SoftBank has made no final decision.
