Serve Robotics has launched its sidewalk robot delivery service in Australia, its first market outside the United States. The rollout begins on the Gold Coast in partnership with DoorDash, with Gnocchi Gnocchi Brothers as the first participating restaurant.
The City of Gold Coast and Griffith University support the initiative. Griffith University will host Serve’s operations depot and explore internship opportunities for students.
DoorDash customers in the pilot area can opt in to receive orders from walking-paced robots monitored by remote supervisors. Serve plans to invest approximately $500,000 in the region over the next year to support the operation.
