Saab has signed a letter of intent with the Canadian government concerning the potential procurement of its GlobalEye Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft. The agreement marks a development in Canada’s efforts to enhance its aerospace surveillance capabilities.

GlobalEye combines air, maritime and ground surveillance in a single system. A future contract would represent a major export win for Saab and strengthen its position in the North American defense market.

Saab has not disclosed the potential number of aircraft or the total value of the deal. Further details are pending formal contract negotiations.
