Banco Santander overturned a UK High Court ruling regarding £677 million in PPI mis-selling claims. The court reversed the previous judgment ordering the bank to pay the multi-million pound sum.
Santander recently cancelled approximately 3.08% of its share capital. The bank retired over 462 million treasury shares in early September.
Santander has repurchased and cancelled about 18% of its total shares since 2021. Filings confirm additional buyback transactions occurred between September 3 and September 9, 2026.
