Banco Santander’s Board of Directors approved a new share repurchase program totaling approximately €1.825 billion. This amount represents roughly 25% of the group’s underlying profit for the first half of 2026.

The initiative is part of a shareholder remuneration policy that distributes 50% of underlying profit via cash dividends and buybacks. Santander will reduce its share capital by canceling the acquired shares.

The program is scheduled to begin on August 24, 2026, following the completion of the current buyback. It is expected to conclude around January 8, 2027.
