Sunrun and SPAN expanded their partnership to integrate home solar and battery systems with distributed compute infrastructure. Sunrun will provide energy products and installation services to power SPAN’s XFRA distributed data center solution. The collaboration aims to accelerate AI compute capacity by deploying compute nodes within residential energy systems.

The initiative initially targets new residential communities in Texas and other select markets. This distributed model offers a scalable, low-cost, and low-latency alternative to traditional data centers. The partnership intends to bypass power constraints that currently limit AI deployment while offering new economic value to homeowners.

Goldman Sachs maintained a buy rating on Sunrun shares following the announcement. Analysts lowered the price target to $13 from $15. The firm remains bullish on the stock despite the target adjustment.
