RTX subsidiary Raytheon has received a sole-source, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract from the U.S. Air Force with a maximum value of $8 billion. The work will modernize strategic communications terminals used to command and control the nation’s nuclear forces.
The contract runs through October 2036. It covers developmental modernization, the restart of production for certain terminals, and technical studies.
Work will take place at Raytheon facilities in Marlborough, Massachusetts, and Largo, Florida. The initiative supports the broader U.S. nuclear command, control, and communications (NC3) architecture, which provides secure, survivable links between national command authorities and strategic forces.
