Raytheon, an RTX business, won a multiyear contract worth up to $20.7 billion to significantly increase production of its Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAMs). The agreement runs for five years, with two optional years.
The contract is part of the Department of War’s Arsenal of Freedom initiative, which aims to replenish and expand munitions stockpiles. It is expected to push AMRAAM production to record levels, building on an earlier agreement to produce at least 1,900 missiles annually.
RTX said it nearly doubled production in 2025 compared with the previous year. The company is investing in its facilities, supply chain, and workforce to meet rising demand from the U.S. military and international allies.
AMRAAMs are used by 44 countries.
