The FBI and CISA issued an updated advisory regarding Iranian-linked hackers targeting U.S. water and energy providers. These cyberattacks aim to cause widespread disruption to critical infrastructure services.

Attackers are exploiting internet-connected industrial control systems known as programmable logic controllers (PLCs). The government expanded the scope of targeted manufacturers to include Schneider Electric and Siemens alongside Rockwell Automation.

Hackers have successfully modified device logic and disabled safety systems during these intrusions. Victims have reported significant operational disruptions and financial losses resulting from the attacks.
