Rivian Automotive announced Chief Financial Officer Claire McDonough will resign on October 30, 2026. McDonough joined the electric vehicle manufacturer in January 2021. She led the company through its historic initial public offering.

Her departure stems from a desire to pursue new professional opportunities and relocate to the East Coast for her family. McDonough will remain in her role for two months to manage the leadership transition. The company is currently prioritizing the development and launch of its lower-priced R2 models.

Vice President of Finance Derek Mulvey will serve as interim CFO following her departure. Rivian has launched a search for a permanent successor, evaluating both internal and external candidates.
