Anton Rupert is set to succeed his 76-year-old father, Johann Rupert, as head of the family’s business empire. This transition marks a generational shift for a portfolio valued at R262 billion. The holdings include significant stakes in Richemont, Remgro, and Reinet.

Born in 1987, Anton currently serves as a director on the boards of Richemont and Remgro. The Rupert family maintains control of these publicly traded companies through a dual-class share structure. This arrangement separates voting power from economic ownership. The structure originated during the reorganization of the family’s founding company, Rembrandt.

Remgro recently issued a positive trading statement regarding its financial performance. The company expects headline earnings per share to increase by up to 47%. This forecast applies to the fiscal year ended June 30, 2026.
