Rekor Systems Inc. secured a seven-year statewide contract from the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT). The agreement holds a potential value exceeding $22 million.

Rekor will maintain and modernize the state’s traffic monitoring network. The scope includes systems for traffic counting, vehicle classification, speed monitoring, and weigh-in-motion sites.

The project replaces aging in-road sensors with Rekor’s AI-powered roadside systems. A cooperative purchasing clause allows South Carolina municipalities to procure these services without a separate bidding process. Rekor expects this provision to accelerate local adoption and increase the total contract value over the seven-year term.
