Redwire Corporation announced that the final pair of its Roll-Out Solar Array (ROSA) wings will launch to the International Space Station (ISS) aboard a SpaceX resupply mission. The launch marks the completion of a multi-year effort to modernize the station’s power systems. Six other Redwire-built ROSA wings have been installed since 2021.
Once all eight wings are in place, they will provide more than 160 kilowatts of power. The arrays are expected to increase the station’s power-generation capability by up to 30% and support operations through 2030, including scientific research and astronaut activities.
The ROSA program is a public-private partnership, and Redwire says the technology could be used in future commercial and deep-space missions.
